Once upon a time... the A.V. ZOGG, Jr. Auction Team was founded in the seven valleys of Cortland, NY.
In 1952, Al Zogg, Jr. graduated from the Reppert School of Auctioneering and entered into the Auction Business. In the early years A.V. Zogg, Sr. helped clerk auctions in the rain, snow or shine. Auctions ranged from all sizes and were from throughout the Adirondacks to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Established 1952
Al Zogg, Sr. & Al Zogg, Jr. were also partners in Glensite Stock Farm which was established in 1839 and is presently still dairy farming. The farm is located just off exit 10 Interstate 81 in Cortland, NY. Next door is the Xenodocha Stock Farm and home of Zogg Livestock, Cortland Auction Sale Pavilion and Home Base of the A.V. ZOGG, Jr. & Associates Auction Company.
To expand marketing potential, private treaty sales were also common with real estate, cattle and machinery. Al grew as a General Auctioneer specializing in any type of auction. Auction business included farm sales, college dairy cattle sales, estate marketing, heavy and light equipment, inventory reduction sales, (residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and investment real estate), benefit sales, secured creditors & bankruptcy liquidations and dependable appraisals.
In August 1999, Steve graduated from Reppert School of Auctioneering where his auctioneering career officially started. He immediately started working for the family business, participating in all aspects of the auction business, while attending college at Suny Cobleskill & Cornell University. Steve then became a licensed real estate salesperson in the year 2000. Then he founded Steven D. Zogg Real Estate on March 19, 2004 when he became an independent licensed Real Estate Broker. After working 7 years (1999 –2006) as an apprentice auctioneer with the family’s auction business, in December of 2006, Steve went out on his own and established his own business, Steven D. Zogg Real Estate Auction & Cattle Co.
In June of 2006, Brent’s auctioneering career started when he graduated from the Missouri Auction School and he also worked as an apprentice auctioneer (2006-2007) for the family auction business where he worked in every aspect of the auction business.
One year later, in 2007, Steven D. Zogg and his brother Brent J. Zogg partnered up and founded Zogg Brothers Auction & Cattle Co. The business is headquartered at 1264 State Route 392 in Cortland, NY with satellite branches located in Saratoga Springs, NY, Batavia, NY, Kingston, NY, and Scranton, PA.
Four years later in 2011, AV ZOGG, Jr. & Associates merged with Zogg Brothers Auction & Cattle Co. The organization is now managed by Al Zogg, Brent Zogg, Carl Zogg, Julie Zogg, Steve Zogg and his wife, Marisa Zogg. The business also includes the Cortland Auction Pavilion located one half mile off Interstate 81 Exit 10 at 4722 State Rt. 41, Cortland, NY 13045.
The business specializes in Marketing Estates at Auction, Farm Auctions (including land, cattle, livestock, & machinery), Residential and Commercial Real Estate Auctions, Antique Auctions, Specialty Collection Auctions, Personal Property Auctions, Business Liquidation Auctions, Benefit Auctions, and Private Treaty Cattle Sales.
